PRESS: Deripaska’s firm bids to buy Reftinskaya GRES plant

MOSCOW, Jan 17 (PRIME) -- An unspecified company of Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska has filed a bid to buy the Reftinskaya GRES coal-fired plant from power producer Enel Russia, business daily Vedomosti reported Wednesday citing sources close to the negotiations sides.

ESN Group of Grigory Beryozkin and Siberian Generating Company of Andrei Melnichenko are also bidders for the facility.

ESN Group has made a complex due diligence of the plant and made a commercial offer and is currently waiting for a decision of Enel and minority shareholders, the group’s representative Marianna Belousova said.

A representative of Enel Russia declined to comment.

Enel said in June 2017 that it started the process of selling the Reftinskaya GRES plant in the Sverdlovsk Region and could sell it in January–March 2018. China’s Hudian was also earlier named as a contender for the plant.
